• The unit bus serves to connect I2C bus expansion modules of the
CC1 family and may also be used for own applications. The
interface assignment is shown in the illustration on the right.
• The ports of the „MEGA128 UNIT“ are activated via the pin strips J1, J2, J5, J6, J7, J14 and
J15.
For further information about the exact port properties, refer to the documentation
of the „C-Control PRO“.
• Before transferring a program to the UNIT, you have to press the button (BOOT/STOP) to
switch the „MEGA128 UNIT“ into programming mode.
• When applying the supply voltage, the user program saved in the program memory of the
„MEGA128 UNIT“ runs automatically. It can be stopped with the button (BOOT/STOP),
which puts the „MEGA128 UNIT“ into BOOT mode required for program transmission.
• You can trigger the program start via die IDE or via the button (RESET/START).
If variables are output via Msg_Write… , we recommend using the software start in the IDE.

Intended Use
The „C-Control PRO 128 Projectboard“ is an economic alternative to the application board
„MEGA128“ (Conrad item no. 198258). Compared to the „C-Control PRO application board“,
it has very limited functions and mainly serves for own software developments in connection
with the „MEGA128 UNIT“ and the „MEGA128CAN UNIT“.
The connector „J3“ of the projectboard leads out the CAN-BUS.
You can use the projectboard with the „MEGA128 UNIT“ or „MEGA128CAN UNIT“.
The „projectboard PRO 128“ contains the most important components required for operation
of the „MEGA128 UNIT“. The projectboard features a power supply (USB/mains adapter),
interface converter (RS232) and a large breadboard field for own developments.
By default, the projectboard is designed for programming via RS232. Optionally, programming
of the UNIT can also take place via USB using the RS232 USB converter (Conrad order no.
197257). In this case, programming also takes place via the serial connection of the UNIT
(UART), which is why program transmission is not as fast as the USB transmission on the
„application board MEGA128“.

• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children.
• The product must not get damp or wet.
• Do not leave packaging material laying around carelessly.  These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
Installation, commissioning
• The „MEGA128 UNIT“ is attached in such a way that the label of the UNIT is legible when
the buttons (RESET/RUN and BOOT/STOP) point towards you.
• In the basic version without RS232 USB converter, plug the jumpers JP4/JP5 as shown in
the illustration on the next page.
If you use the RS232 USB converter (not part of the delivery), these jumpers must
be plugged to „USB“.
• The jumper JP3 serves to select the supply voltage. With jumper setting "Netz", the jumpers
J11 are used for supply (laboratory power unit or stabilised plug-type power unit, at least
100mA depending on application).
If the jumper JP3 is plugged to USB, the board can also be operated via the USB power
supply of the computer.
Attention! Do not exceed a maximum current consumption of 100mA via USB!
• The switch S3 as well as the power supply pin strips J17/J18 and the pins for Vcc/GND on
the breadboard field no longer carry voltage with USB operation. This supply merely serves
for test applications in case an external power supply is not available.
• The corresponding COM port (serial interface) must be selected in the IDE of the „C-Control
PRO“. USB programming also takes place via the serial interface of the MEGA128 UNIT“.
If applicable, check which COM ports are available in the Windows device manager or which
ones were installed by the RS232 USB converter.
• If the I2C bus is used, the jumpers JP2 and JP1 must be plugged if you do not want to provide
any external pull-up resistances.
