10. Battery replacement
The ‘FS20 S4UB’ flush-mounted battery transmitter is operated using a high-performance
lithium battery that boasts an estimated battery life of up to 10 years. This means that you only
need to replace the battery very rarely.
Replacing the FS20 S4UB’s battery is more complicated than with other
products due to the device’s design and size.
To replace the battery you first need to remove the transparent shrink film that
encloses the ‘FS20 S4UB’. After successfully replacing the battery, you should
attach another comparable insulator.
If you have any doubts, please get a skilled technician do this for you.
Replacing the battery incorrectly could cause an explosion or a fire. You
also risk destroying the flush-mounted battery transmitter.
Costs arising from the damage that may be caused far outweigh the costs of
getting the battery replaced!
It may be necessary to replace the battery, if you experience an increasing number of reception
problems on all channels, the causes of which are not listed in section 9.
Check whether anything has changed. For example, the receiver may be
installed at a different location, metal objects may have been positioned near
the transmitter/receiver, a computer may have been set up and so on.
Constructional modifications (for instance, a steel door, the attachment of
metallised insulating plates or similar) can reduce the wireless range, for
example.
If you have investigated all the possible causes of the disturbance and the deterioration of the
reception quality or the ‘FS20 S4UB’ has already been operating for some years, then you
should replace the battery with a new one.
Make sure you exercise considerable caution when replacing the battery
as the lithium battery can explode, if a short-circuit occurs. This could
lead to serious personal injury!
To change the battery proceed as follows:
