service or other technical personnel.
Operation
4.
When using paints that contain inflammable solvents, there is a risk of explosion. Therefore
avoid naked flames and sparks.
Preparation
Cover the work area well, such as with a plastic sheet, and wear appropriate breathing protection.
Connect the compressed air hose of your compressor to the hose connection on the airbrush gun.
Attach the required paint cup, or the adaptor for a pressure tank system.
Fill the paint cup / tank system with paint, diluted as required. The paint should be considerably more diluted than
when used for painting with a normal brush. It should have a milky consistency.
Setting the operating pressure
Switch the compressor on.
Before you start spraying the object you want to paint, it is advisable to do a test on a piece of cardboard or sheet
metal in order to set the appropriate working pressure on your compressor and to test the paint consistency. You can
find the recommended working pressures for the different airbrush guns in the technical data section.
Set the working pressure to a high level at first. Then do a spray test and keep reducing the working pressure until
the spraying result is no longer sharp. Then raise the working pressure again by about 0.5 bar.
The correct working pressure depends on the consistency of the paint, the nozzle size and the airbrush
gun itself.
The lower you set the working pressure, the narrower the spray becomes. If the working pressure is too low or there
is too much paint, this causes spotting.
You can adjust the operating pressure precisely using the adjusting screw on the front of the airbrush gun.
Operation
Do not let the trigger lever snap forwards after the spraying action is finished. This could damage
the airbrush gun.
When spraying, the amount of paint and the air supply are controlled at the same time by the trigger lever  (double-
action principle). It is located at the top centre of the airbrush gun.
The compressed air flows out as soon as you press the trigger lever. The further back you pull the trigger lever, the
more paint is fed into the spray nozzle.
With the adjustment screw, you can restrict the distance that the needle moves backwards and thus limit the amount
of paint. This is particularly useful if you want to keep the width of the spray constant (e.g. for lines).
Make sure that the airbrush gun is always held at a right angle to the object being sprayed.
For  fine  details,  reduce  the  spraying  distance  and  decrease  the  working  pressure.  For  spraying  large  areas,
increase the spraying distance and raise the working pressure correspondingly. When doing this, make sure that
you do not exceed the recommended maximum pressure. This can damage the airbrush gun.
Guide the gun steadily and evenly over the object. Start the spraying movement with the airbrush gun over the
object before actuating the trigger lever and continue the movement after you have released the trigger lever for
a short while.
Keep the pressure on the trigger lever whilst releasing it forwards. This cleans the spray nozzle of any residual paint,
which prevents paint blots occurring the next time you use the airbrush gun.
Wait a short while between each spraying action so that the paint can dry slightly and not form drips.
Care and maintenance
5.
Carefully clean the airbrush gun after each use. Never leave it lying around for a long time without
cleaning it. Otherwise, the airbrush gun will become unusable.
Do not use mechanical force when cleaning the gun because there are precision components
that can be damaged very easily.
Never pull the needle out of its guide when there is still paint in the airbrush gun. Otherwise, the
air valve will get clogged with paint and become unusable.
Cleaning before changing the paint
Empty  the  paint  cup  after  the  spraying  action  by  shaking  it  out  and  spraying  out  the  residual  paint  until  only
1.
compressed air comes out of the spray nozzle.
With the help of a brush, clean the paint cup out with water or a solvent (depending on the paint used). Do not use
2.
cotton buds or kitchen towels. Fibres could get inside the spray nozzle and clog it.
Fill the paint cup again with water or a suitable solvent and operate the airbrush gun until the cup is empty. Repeat
3.
this step two or three times until all traces of paint are gone.
After doing that, squeeze and pull the trigger lever once more as far as it will go so that the inside of the spray nozzle
4.
is cleaned by the compressed air flowing through it.
Cleaning after use
In addition to the steps described above, carry out the following steps as well:
Unscrew the cap, loosen the needle adjustment screw and pull the needle carefully out of its guide.
1.
Clean the needle with water or a solvent. Do this with care and do not use force because the needle is extremely
2.
sensitive.
Unscrew the nozzle cover with the screw wrench from the airbrush gun and clean them with water or a solvent and
3.
a marten-hair brush.
Reassemble the airbrush gun by pushing the needle back into its guide as far as it will go and then tightening the
4.
adjustment screw. When doing this, the trigger lever must be in the lower front position. Ensure that the needle is not
damaged when you do this (e.g. by accidentally bending or hitting against a component inside the airbrush gun).
Screw the cap back on.
5.
Screw the nozzle cover and the needle cover back on.
6.
Replacing the nozzle
A nozzle replacement is usually only required if the nozzle has been damaged.
Release the nozzle cover using the wrench. The nozzle is located in the nozzle cover.
1.
To remove the nozzle from the nozzle cover, use suitable pliers. Carefully move the nozzle back and forth until it is
2.
released from the nozzle cover.
Insert a new nozzle and screw the nozzle cover on again using the wrench.
3.
