The camera focuses on the area in the center of the frame.

Use of a tripod is recommended, because the shutter speed is slow. Set Photo VR to Off in the 
setup menu (

A 72) when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting.

Select a scene and move the zoom control (

g (j) to view a description of that scene. To return to the 
original screen, move the zoom control toward 

g (j) again.
