Volume Name 

This field displays the volume name of the shared 
drive. 

Available Users 

This field displays the user account names 
associated with the shared drive. You can configure 
the users by clicking the Add User link. You can 
add users to the shared drive by clicking the Edit 
link in the NAS Shared List. 

Configure 

Click Edit to assign user accounts to the shared 
drive and display the current shared name. 
Click Delete to remove the shared drive from the 
NAS Shared List. If you remove the drive, it will no 
longer be accessible in your operating system. 

 

How to add user account access to a USB drive. 

In order to create individual user accounts with different levels of read/write access for a 
shared USB drive, you must configure the drive sharing manually in the Advanced Set-Up > 
USB File Sharing page. This requires disabling the ‘Auto Share’ feature on the router. 
To add a user account to the shared drive: 

1.  Login to the router’s admin pages. 
2.  Click on the Advanced Set-Up tab and click Accept on the ‘Please proceed with 

caution’ page. 

3.  Click on USB File Sharing in the left hand navigation menu 

4.  On the ‘Auto Share’ option select ‘Disable’ 
5.  Ensure that the ‘Samba function’ is set to ‘Enable’ 
6.  Windows users: Ensure that the ‘Workgroup Name’ matches the workgroup name on your 

network (this is usually ‘Workgroup’): 

 

7.  Click Save Settings:
