9 Bendix Updates Design Of Its AD-IS

The times are changing and so are we.  Over the years, evolving commercial vehicle engine emissions standards  have 
resulted in higher heat and new air system contaminants.   So, as part of our ongoing continuous improvement process, 
Bendix – the leader in air treatment system design – has redesigned our AD-IS

 air dryer purge valve assembly 

for even greater service life and reliability for your customers.  

Here’s an overview of the improvements along with an easy-to-use guide to help you and your customers transition to 
the new part numbers.

• New dual U-cup seal

• Wear band addition
 
•  A longer return spring with more 

active coils

•  Improved durability and 

performance from two seals versus 
one

•  The U-cup seals are protected from 

additional premature wear

• Enables consistent piston return 

•  Durability lab test results show 2-3 

times longer life than the previous 
design

•  Extends service life 

signifi cantly

•  Prevents the valve piston from stick-

ing or binding

Current Status:   Supersedes all existing quad ring kits

Why The Change?
 

 The new & improved piston design will not fi t or operate in the 
old style housing of the Bendix purge valve.

Replace With: 

Replace with a complete valve assembly
