Care and Cleaning
•  Metal marks – Utensils/pans will occasionally leave
marks. If Cleaning Crème does not remove marks use
a mild cleanser (i.e.: Bon Ami) to remove.
Rinse and dry surface and apply Dacor Cooktop
Cleaning Crème. NOTE: Magnetic stainless steel and
porcelain coated steel/iron pans are less likely to
leave marks than other types of cookware. Uncoated
cast iron pans are more likely to cause marking on the
glass. Always avoid sliding cookware across the glass.
•  Water spots
1.  Apply undiluted white vinegar, rinse and dry.
2.  Apply Dacor Cooktop Cleaning Crème.
•  Scratches
Scratches cannot be removed. Avoid scratches by
using clean pans and removing gritty food spillages
quickly. Keep the cooktop clean and apply Dacor
Cooktop Cleaning Crème often. Surface scratches will
not affect cooking capability.
How to use Dacor Cooktop Cleaning Creme
•  Regular use of Dacor Cooktop Cleaning Crème on
the glass surface will protect the surface and make it
easier to remove food soil and water spots.
•  To clean the cooktop, be sure it is cool, then apply
about a 1/4 teaspoon of Dacor Cooktop Cleaning
Creme*, to the ceramic glass surface with a lightly
dampened clean cloth. Use a second clean cloth to
remove any remaining cleaner residue. Wipe the
cooktop surface with a dry cloth to completely elimi-
nate any remaining moisture.
* See the Parts and Accessories section for reorder
information.

dampened with a mild solution of detergent and warm
water. Dry the control panel completely with a soft,
lint-free cloth.
Cleaning Stainless Steel Surfaces
 CAUTION
Always wipe stainless steel (silver colored) surfaces
with the grain. To prevent scratching, do not use
abrasive cleaners or scrubbers on stainless steel
surfaces.
Clean stainless steel surfaces with a mild solution of
detergent and warm water. Rinse and dry with a soft,
lint-free cloth. You may also use Dacor Stainless Steel
Cleaner. Use it according to the directions on the package.
Cleaning the Oven Interior
 WARNING
To avoid electrical shock or burns, turn off the oven
and be sure that it is cool before cleaning.
Your oven’s self clean feature eliminates the need for
manual scrubbing of interior surfaces. The steps below are
for cleaning surfaces and items that are not cleaned by
the self clean process. See page 21.
Cleaning the Oven Door Glass Surfaces
(Interior and Exterior)
•  Use a mild glass cleaner to remove finger prints on
glass surfaces. You may also clean the other glass
surfaces with Dacor Cooktop Cleaning Creme. Use it
according to the directions on the package.
•  You may scrub the oven light lens with the rough side
of a sponge and warm, soapy water. Be careful not to
scratch the lens.
Cleaning the Door Gasket (Seal)
 WARNING
Take care when cleaning the door gasket. Rubbing or
displacing it may damage the tight door seal required
for proper cooking and self cleaning.
Clean the door gasket by dabbing it with a solution of
water and mild soap. Do not scrub it or it will become
damaged.
Cleaning the Oven Racks
To clean the oven racks, apply a solution of detergent
and hot water. When you need to clean heavy soil, use a
scouring pad such as steel wool with plenty of water. You
may also use a solution of one cup of ammonia to two
gallons of water.
