If you don’t want sound to be heard from the speakers, set the [SPEAKER] switch located
on the rear of the CD-2e to its “OFF” position.

Muting the Sound of the Speakers
Even if the [SPEAKER] switch is in the “ON” position (so that sound is produced), sound will
not be heard from the speakers during recording-standby mode or during recording. This is
to prevent sound produced by the speakers from being picked up and recorded by the
internal mic or an external mic.
