8. TROUBLESHOOTING
• When the symptoms in the left column do not improve after taking the measures in the right column, please contact the shop 
where you bought this product.
• For the measures marked with 
✩, please buy ZENOAH’s genuine parts at the shop where you bought this product.
PHENOMENON
The engine does not start.
The engine does not stop even 
though you operate the stop switch.
The motor rotates, but does not 
crank.
The motor does not rotate.
The engine does not accelerate.
The engine stalls when the throttle 
is returned to its original position.
The engine rotation speed changes.
Abnormal vibration
Deterioration of fuel consumption
The battery cannot be charged. 
(The lamp for the charger does not 
turn on.)
While the charger is in operation, 
a strange sound, offensive smell 
or smoke comes out.
The charger or the battery 
becomes hot.
MAIN CAUSE
• Bad fuel (different quality, deterioration)
• Excessive sucking of fuel
• Clogging of the muffler exhaust vent
• Contamination of the spark plug electrodes, 
Short-circuit or breaking of a wire
• The connection of the switch cord might be wrong.
• The switch might be wrong.
• The voltage of the battery might be inadequate.
• The engine might have burned out.
• A foreign substance might be caught in 
the rotating mechanism of the motor.
• Excessive carbon might have built up.
• The voltage of the battery might be inadequate.
• The battery might have reached its life span.
• The connection of the connector and 
wires might be wrong.
• A wire might be disconnected.
• Bad fuel (different quality, deterioration)
• Clogging of the muffler exhaust vent
• The idling revolution speed is too low.
• Clogging of the fuel filter
• Deformation or damage of the blade
• Clogging of the air cleaner
• Blunt blade
• Bad lubrication of the flexible shaft
• The power-supply plug or the jack for the 
AC adapter might not be securely inserted.
• The battery might not be securely installed 
in the charger.

MEASURES
• Replace it with normal fuel (page 31).
• Open the choke, open the throttle full 
open, and pull out the rope repeatedly 
(page 33,34).
• Clean the muffler (page 47).
• Clean the electrodes or replace the plug 
(page 45

• Connect the switch cord firmly.
• Replace the switch.

machine to be damaged during operation, or cause an unexpected accident due to the leakage of fuel or
malfunction of the machine.
• When you carry out inspection or maintenance of the machine, keep the machine clear of fire (such as a lit
cigarette). Otherwise, the fuel might catch fire.
• Use ZENOAH’s genuine or dedicated tightening parts (bolts, nuts and screws). Use of other manufacturers’
parts might damage the machine, or cause an unexpected accident due to parts falling off while the machine
is in operation.
