6.4.3 Set up User Authentication Using the RADIUS Server
This step sets up user authentication using the RADIUS server. First, configure the settings for
the RADIUS server. Then, set up the authentication method, and configure the ZyWALL to
use the authentication method. Finally, force users to log in to the ZyWALL before it routes
traffic for them.

1 Click Object > AAA Server > RADIUS > Default. Configure the RADIUS server, and
click Apply.

2 Click Object > Auth. method. Click the Add icon.
3 Give the new authentication method a descriptive name, and click the Add icon. Select

4 Click System > WWW. In the Authentication section, select the new authentication
method in the Client Authentication Method field. Click Apply.

5 Click Object > User/Group > Setting. In the Force User Authentication Policy
section, click the Add icon.
6 Set up a default policy that forces every user to log in to the ZyWALL before the
ZyWALL routes traffic for them. Select Enable. Then, select force in the
Authentication field. Keep the rest of the default settings, and click OK.
