For SF and SM Pubsets, the maximum catalog file size will be
*2
increased to 32008 4K blocks, representing a 98% enlargement.
*2
In the case of SM Pubsets, the special catalogs #MIN, #JVC
*2
and #PTV can also be shared out among upto 100 catalog files,
*2
which corresponds to a new maximum catalog size of 32008 4K
*2
blocks and a 187-fold increase.
*2
The new part catalogs will be numbered serially from
*2
$TSOS.TSOSCAT.#M00 - $TSOS.TSOSCAT.#M99
*2
$TSOS.TSOSCAT.#J00 - $TSOS.TSOSCAT.#J99
*2
$TSOS.TSOSCAT.#P00 - $TSOS.TSOSCAT.#P99
*2
For this extended catalog, a new catalog format “extra large”
*2
will be introduced alongside the previous catalog formats
*2 “large” and “normal”.
*2
Pubsets with “extra large” catalog format can be generated with
*2
SIR when the Pubset is imported or installed:
*2
Command:
/IMPORT-PUBSET…. EXTRA-LARGE-CAT-CONV=*YES
*2
With SM Pubsets this command affects all part
*2
catalogs.
*2
SIR instruction: DECLARE-PUBSET …,TSOSCAT-TYPE=*EXTRA-LARGE
*2
Important information:
*2
The new catalog format is incompatible. A Pubset that uses
*2
the catalog extension can no longer be imported into versions
*2
prior to BS2000/OSD V6.0B.
*2
An inhomogeneous SPVS network with versions prior to BS2000/OSD
*2
V6.0B is not possible.
*2
For certain products new or corrected versions must be installed:
*2
DRV
V3.1A
*2
JV
V14.0C
*2
openSM2 V6.0B
*2
SCA
V15.0B
*2
SHC-OSD V5.0A

SPACEOPT V3.0B
2.14.1.2 Automatic catalog enlargement
*2
The command /SHOW-PUBSET-CATALOG-ALLOCATION displays the format
*2
and current workload of the catalog or catalogs.
*2
During operation, catalog files that have not yet reached their
*2
maximum size are automatically enlarged; this applies to all
*2
catalog formats. However, the catalog format is never modified
*2
by this automatic enlargement. As before, the catalogs can
*2
of course also be enlarged manually. On SM Pubsets the new
*2
command ADD-CATALOG-FILE is available for the manual enlargement
*2
of special catalogs by single catalog files.
