Symptom Charts/System - 3

 

System does not start 

up

1 Reset logic board. Refer to Additional Procedures.

2 Replace power supply.

3 Replace logic board. Retain customer’s DIMMs.

System does not start 

up from keyboard, 

but starts up from 

power switch

1 Check keyboard connection.

2 Verify keyboard as known-good.

System does not start 

up from power 

switch, but starts up 

from keyboard

1 Make sure power switch cable is properly plugged into logic 

board.

2 Check for cuts in power switch cable (especially near front 

under CD-ROM drive).
