Features not supported by this configuration
This XP CV AE configuration supports all XP CV AE features except where noted below:

Provisioning Manager: No application server file system features are supported unless the XP CV
AE host agents are installed on the application servers.

Replication Manager: Distributed management of replication pairs is not supported by this
configuration. Only the central management of replications pairs is supported.
Compatible features
Full Host View support requires host agents. Additional host agents can be installed on production
servers as desired.
Provisioning Manager host file system support requires the XP CV AE host agent.

Installation order
It is recommended that the XP CV AE installation be performed in the following order. Please refer to
the respective installation and configuration guides for detailed installation instructions of the

individual components.
1.
Install the XP CV AE Suite.
Install the Device Manager Server followed by Plug-in components.
Select the XP CV AE management server as the SMI-S Performance Profile host.

Install RAID Manager.
Accept the default location.

Configure an XP command device.

XP CV AE and VMware
The XP CV AE Device Manager is fully supported on VMware, as long as the VMware Guest OS is
supported by both VMware and XP CV AE.
