When the software on the working directory of a switch has proven to be effective and reliable, eventu-
ally the contents of the working directory should be copied into the certified directory.
To copy the contents of the working directory to the certified directory, enter the following command at
the prompt:
-> copy working certified
 command is only valid if the switch is running from the working directory. If
you attempt to copy the working directory to the certified directory when the switch is running from the
certified directory, nothing will happen, and the files in the certified directory will remain unchanged.
Note. In order for this command to work, the amount of free space in flash must equal the size of the files
being copied. If there isn’t enough free space, the copy attempt will fail and an error message will be
generated. Only image files, the boot.cfg file, and the certs.pem file should be kept in the working direc-
tory.
Note. In OmniSwitch 6400, 6800, and 6850 switches only, it is important to synchronize the stack as soon
as the validity of the software is established. Unsynchronized stacks are at risk of mismanaging data traf-
fic due to incompatibilities in different versions of switch software. Synchronizing the switch is described
in
Copying the Certified Directory to the Working Directory
It is possible to copy the contents of the certified directory to the working directory. This is done by using
the following CLI command:
-> copy certified working
If this command is executed, all files in the working directory will be permanently overwritten by the
contents of the certified directory.
 command is described in detail in the OmniSwitch CLI Reference Guide.
Note. In order for this command to work, the amount of free space in flash must equal the size of the files
being copied. If there isn’t enough free space, the copy attempt will fail and an error message will be
generated. Only image files, the boot.cfg file, and the certs.pem file should be kept in the certified direc-
tory.
