CCD Housing:
movable platform holding the CCD sensor.

Positioning Lead Screws:
for positioning of the CCD housing and
optics housing for the appropriate resolution and original size.

Optics Housing:
movable platform holding the optics which focuses
the image of the original on the CCD-sensor.

Upper Light Source:
illuminates reflective originals.

Prism-module:
focuses the light from various angles and thereby
removes or heavily reduces dust and scratches in the scanned image.

Lower Light Source:
illuminates transparent originals.
G
Drum:
rotates the original into the scanner and steps it past the CCD
line of focus.

Original Holder:
a transparency holder is shown mounted and with
the top layer held open.
