Appendix

To update software

You can update your software without visiting the nearest
dealer.

1. Press

n, tap Settings > AT&T software update.

2. Tap

Check for updates to check whether you need to

update the software.

Note After downloading the software, the device will ask you
whether to update the software now. If you choose to update the
software now, it will restart the handset. If you postpone updating
the software, you can select between 1 hour, 4 hours or 8 hours in
Options. After selecting the updating time, you will be sent back to
standby mode. If you go to Software Update while you postpone the
process, tap

Continue Update.

To view the version of software

1. Press

n, tap Settings > About phone.

2. Scroll down to see the version of software.

How to upgrade the Android Operating
System

1. Press

n, tap Settings > About phone in the Crossover, and

check the Android version. If the version starts with 2.2, the
OS needs to be upgraded to the latest.

2. Visit

http://pantechusa.com/support/crossover_p8000

from your PC.

3. Click

VIEW next to Crossover Upgrade to Gingerbread to

upgrade Pantech Crossover to Android Gingerbread OS.

4. Please write your e-mail address to download Android

Gingerbread OS on your PC.

5. Unpack the ZIP file "P8000_Sideload_Tool_OS_upgrade."

6. Install the file, "P8000_Sideload_Tool_OS_upgrade." If

you need further assistance to upgrade OS, please refer to
below category which is "How to install."

CAUTION

x Do not disconnect the USB data cable or turn the power off during

the update process.

x All data in the Crossover will be deleted when the OS is updated.

If you have not backed up your personal data, run the Pantech PC
Suite and keep your data in a separate storage.
