ACTIVESYNC

ActiveSync lets you set up S/MIME e-mail encryption and signing. You 
will have to obtain a valid certificate for signing or encrypting e-mail 
before you will be able to sign or encrypt e-mail successfully. 

1  In the phone Home screen, press [Start], select 

ActiveSync and press OK.

2  Press the right soft key [Menu] select Options 

and press 

OK.

3  Scroll to E-mail and press the right soft key 

Settings.

4  Press [Menu] to select Advanced and press OK.

 

Do one or both of the following: 

 

•    To sign all outgoing messages so that a recipient can be 

certain that the message as received was sent by the 
claimed sender, and has not been altered in any way, 
check Sign messages.

 

•    To encrypt all outgoing e-mail so as to protect the contents 

of the message from being viewed by anyone other then 
the intended recipient, check Encrypt messages. 

5  Press [Menu] and select Choose Certificate 

to select a certificate for signing or encrypting 
outgoing e-mail. You can select certificates to 
sign or encrypt e-mails individually even if you do 
not want to sign or encrypt all outgoing e-mail.
