Configuring Modems

his chapter describes how to:

Change the definition of an existing modem for any RAC

•

Create a new modem definition or remove modem definitions
for RACs other than ISDN Primary Rate RACs

•

Configure WAN internal modems

We recommend that you use the

Edit Modem

window (

Figure 8-1

) to

change modem definitions (except WAN internal modems). However,
you can use

Edit Configuration

from the Annex Manager Configure

menu for the same purpose.

Creating and Changing Modem Definitions

This section describes how to:

Change definitions for RACs with asynchronous ports

•

Change definitions for ISDN primary rate RACs

•

Remove a definition

Changing Definitions for RACs with Asynchronous
Ports

To edit or create a new definition for RACs with asynchronous ports:

From the

Async Ports

window click

Edit Port

to display the

Edit

Async Ports

window and choose the appropriate settings in the

Port Options

box.

In the

Modem

box field

choose the modem whose definition you

want to edit, or choose

to create a new definition

from default values and click

Edit Modem

The

Edit Modem

window appears (

Figure 8-1

). It contains the

current values for the modem you selected.
