The WD SmartWare Home screen displays:

in the task bar to view drive capacity used and
drive temperature, and to determine whether the drive is currently locked:
Monitoring Icon Alerts
• If the WD SmartWare icon
in the task bar flashes green and white, the drive
may be locked or is in a format that the WD SmartWare software does not

Power down the drive and let it cool for 60 minutes. Power it back on, and if the
problem persists, contact WD Support.
