Adjusting the Loading Position
The loading position is the point where the paper stops when you
load paper using the 
LOAD/EJECT 
button. This position is important
because it determines where the printing begins on the page. If the
printing is too high or too low on the page, change the loading
position using the micro-adjustment feature as described below.
CAUTION: Never use the platen knob to feed paper
after turning on the printer. (If you need to use the

Make sure that the printer is turned on and that paper (single
sheet or continuous) is ready for loading.

Press the 
LOAD/EJECT 
button to feed paper to the loading
position. Then press and hold down the 
ON LINE 
button until
the beeper sounds once and the 
ON LINE 
light begins to blink.

Press 
the FORM FEED 
button to feed the paper forward or the
LINE FEED 
button to feed the paper backward. When you 
have
set the desired loading position, you 
can 
begin printing; the 
ON
LINE 
light automatically stops blinking.
Note: You 
can 
use the 
FORM FEED 
and 
LINE FEED 
buttons to
adjust the loading position only while the 
ON LINE 
light is
blinking.
