Thanks to the magnetically efficient design, the WB transformer can draw larger current 
compared to conventional transformers of the same size. 
 
3.  Low leakage of magnetic flux, vibration and noise 
 
The WB transformer incorporates a very smooth core surface without any cutting surface or 
joint. This core design keeps the leakage of magnetic flux, vibration and noise extremely low 
(compared to conventional transformers where the core is composed of several parts). 
 
4.  The bottom line for the Esoteric AZ-1 
 
The WB transformer and audio output stage design, unique to Esoteric’s model AZ-1, 
provides “tube like” audio performance from a “Class D,” integrated digital amplifier. The WB 
transformer enables ultra efficient power output, high speed response time and greatly 
reduced potential for noise, magnetic flux leakage and vibration.   
 
With the added feature of a WORD clock output signal, timing between a compatible DAC 
and transport can be re-synchronized to +/- 1ppm. The AZ-1 includes inputs for up to 6 
digital devices and 3 line level inputs, including magnetic phono. The product is truly unique!
