Shooting
 Shooting in Manual Mode
The following three modes are available.    
See Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode (p. 192).
Manual
Use this mode to select settings yourself, such as the exposure 
compensation, white balance or photo effect.
Digital
Macro
Use this mode when the distance from the lens to the subject is 
within 5 
 50 cm (2.0 in. 
 1.6 ft.) (at maximum wide angle). 
The subject can be shown larger than in standard macro mode 
because it trims the image edges and zooms in with the digital 
zoom (p. 72).
My Colors Use these modes to change image colors and then shoot (p. 102).

Turn the mode dial to  
(Manual).

In the FUNC. menu, select 
.
• See Selecting Menus and Settings (p. 47).
• You can shoot right after selecting an 
option. The menu displays again after the 
shot, allowing you to change the settings 
easily.

Shoot (p. 45).
• If the subject is difficult to focus on when 
the shutter button is pressed halfway, the 
beep will sound one time and the lower 
indicator beside the viewfinder will blink 
yellow.
• When the AiAF option is set to [Off] 
(p. 89), the AF frame will appear yellow. (If 
the AiAF option is set to [On], the AF 
frame will not appear.)
