Shooting with the Digital Tele-Converter

The digital tele-converter feature uses digital zoom to achieve the 
effects of a tele-converter (a lens used in telephoto shooting).

Select [Digital Zoom].

1. Press the MENU button.
2. In the 

 menu, use the 

 

or 

 button to select [Digital 

Zoom].

Make settings.

1. Use the 

 or 

 button to 

select an option
• The following options are 

available depending on the 
aspect ratio setting.
4:3 : [2.3x]
16:9 : [2.0x]

2. Press the MENU button.

Adjust the zoom level 

with the zoom lever 

and shoot.

•

 and the zoom factor 

appear on the LCD monitor (or 
the viewfinder).

• When a still image is shot, the 

image may appear coarse depending upon the selected 
recording pixels (the 

 icon and the zoom factor appear in 

blue). However, images will not be coarse when shooting 
movies, even when 

 and the zoom factor appear in blue.
