Advanced Print Path Installation

Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager-Advanced Print Path-is a software 
application you can use to enter job ticket information for an existing 
PDL file (RDO, ASCII, PS, TIFF, PCL, PDF files) and to submit the job to 
an available printer. FreeFlow Print Manager-Advanced Print Path 
enables Xerox-supported networks to take advantage of the many 
printing options offered by Xerox-supported printing systems

•Requires a FF license. You will be provided with a license file or 

receive a coupon to get a license file. The license file is a .dat file.

•Adobe Acrobat runs an automatic installation up to 9.3.2. The 

customer will not need to manually enter any license information 
for Adobe during its installation.

•The following Xerox applications are installed with FreeFlow Print 

Manager-Advanced Print Path:

a. Printer Administration (with Printer Registration)

b. Tools (with Backup and Restore, FreeFlow Administration, Hot 

Folders, and Status)

Refer to the FreeFlow Print Manager - Advanced Print Path Customer 
Expectations Document for detailed system requirements.

1.

Double-click Setup.exe to begin the installation process. Follow 
the screen instructions to install the product.

2.

If you do not have a license (.dat file) you will need to obtain a 
license file. To do so, select Open Software Activation Portal.

3.

The Xerox Software Activation Portal will open, enter the 
Activation Key.

4.

Enter the Host ID (the system you are installing to an can be 
found on the installation licensing window) and select Next to 
continue.

5.

 Review the summary, and select Save and Download License 
File to continue.

6.

Select Add the license from .dat file.

7.

Set up the printer list using the Printer Registration Tool. Click 
Start > Programs > Xerox FreeFlow Software > Printer 
Administration > Printer Registration. Ensure that The FreeFlow 
Print Manager-Advanced Print Path check box is selected when 
the program is started.

NOTE 

Register (add) your printers through Printer Registration. 

For information on how to use the Printer Registration, use the 
online Help for the application.

8.

Test the installation by printing a document. 

1.

From the start menu select Programs > Xerox Freeflow > Tools > 
Backup and Restore.

2.

From the Backup and Restore window, select the Backup tab.

3.

Browse to a location to store the backup file and select Backup.

A backup zip file will be stored in the designated location listed 
according to the date.

From the start menu select Programs > Xerox Freeflow > Tools > 
Backup and Restore.

2.

From the Backup and Restore window, select the Restore tab.

3.

Browse to the location of the stored backup file and select 
Restore.

 The backup file contents will be restored.
