Printer Setup options
Print to PS Error
—Specify whether the Fiery should print the available portion of a
print job when it encounters a PostScript error. In general, this option should be No.
• When you choose No, the printing of the entire job is canceled when a PostScript
error occurs, but the processed portion of the job and the PostScript error
information are stored on the Fiery. You can view the job and the error information
from the job management tools.
• When you choose Yes, the portion of the job processed before the error occurred is
printed.
Face-Down Printing
—Specify whether to have printed output exit the copier/printer
face-down.
Offset Jobs
—Specify if you want to output multiple copy jobs in alternating stacks.
Mixed Page Size
—Specify if you want to print jobs that contain multiple page sizes.
Print Master
—Specify if you want to print a master page.
Enable Bypass Tray as default
—Specify whether jobs should be printed from the
bypass tray. Use this option to enable printing from the bypass tray when tray selection
is not otherwise available in the interface, such as when printing from the command
line (lpd or DOS). In general, choose Off when the interface permits tray selection on
a job-by-job basis.
Image Smoothing
—Specify if you want to increase image quality. This option takes
low-resolution images and adds pixels.
Halftone Screen (Remote Setup only)
—Specify the Halftone Screen to use for
proofing jobs for offset printing.
Halftone Screen Definition (Local Setup only)
—User Screen 1, User Screen 2, and
User Screen 3 menu items are used to toggle between definitions for three user-defined
halftone screens. For each of these screens, the user may define Frequency (lpi), Screen
Angles, and Dot Shapes. Custom allows the user to enter PostScript function for spot
shape. When the Custom option is selected, the Custom Spot Function dialog box
appears. This dialog box provides fields in which the user may type PostScript code.
When the dialog box first appears, it contains the spot function definition for the last
selected spot shape. For example, if Custom is selected after Square, the dialog box
displays the Spot Function associated with Square spots.
