Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for the Cisco MDS 9500 Series Supervisor-1 Module is the Cisco
MDS 9500 Series Supervisor-2 Module. The Supervisor-2 module supports the MDS 9513
Multilayer Director, maintaining full compatibility with the Cisco MDS 9506 and MDS 9509
Multilayer Director chassis, switching modules, and intelligent services modules.
The Supervisor-2 module extends the number of port indexes supported in a single chassis to
1024, up from the 252 port indexes supported by Supervisor-1 module. Information about the
