With the release of version 8.0, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace will support the option of a software-only deployment.
This will be similar to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express deployments in that no separate DSP-based media
processing is required. This brings the benefits of a scalable, high-quality enterprise audio and video conferencing
platform to the commercial market. Web conferencing in version 8 of Unified MeetingPlace is delivered to users
through the WebEx service, bringing together the best of on-premises and on-demand solutions. Using the WebEx
service for scheduling meetings, customers can deploy Unified MeetingPlace 8 on a single MCS server, similar to
MeetingPlace Express.
