The XA88x8.8BESM and XA88x12.5BESM telephoto
lenses offer 88x magnification with the widest focal
range of 8.8 mm (and 12.5 mm) in this market segment.
The XA88x lenses are perfect for capturing stunning
wide-angle or close-up shots at big sports events.

To achieve the extreme focal range from 8.8 mm
(12.5 mm) wide-angle to 777 mm (1,100 mm) tele side (1x
extender), the XA88x combines Fujinon’s most advanced
lens and GO- (Global Optimisation) Technologies. The
focus and zoom groups of the 88x are achromatic lenses
themselves. Lens elements with low refractive index and
small dispersion are combined with special glass with
high refractive index to minimise chromatic aberration.

A special glass manufacturing process provides extreme
large single crystals for the front lens groups. A newly
developed EBC coating combination reduces ghost and
flare and increases the transmission. The XA88x lenses
incorporate multiple aspherical lens elem ents and three
zoom groups to achieve an unprecedented image quality
over the entire zoom range.

In addition, Fujinon’s Advanced Back Focus enables
remote control of macro and focus fade on wide shots
– unique to Fujinon in this lens category. All XA88x
lenses include Fujinon’s exclusive built-in OS-TECH
optical stabilisation system and the XA88x8.8 lens
can be combined with the unique and award winning
Fujinon PF Precision Focus System.

A new shroud design incorporates a tightly sealed and
dust-proof housing as well as a built-in moisture protec-
tion, perfect for applications under harsh conditions; while
it is also extremely quiet in operation. The XA88x lenses
have an improved F-drop at tele side and they offer all
the advantages of Fujinon’s DIGI POWER functions
to increase your production flexibility and ease of use.
