Displays the amount of time the system has been operational since its last down time (maintenance or otherwise).

Exec 

The following prompt is displayed in the Exec mode: 

[local]host_name# 

 

show system uptime [ | { grep grep_options | more } ] 

 

Displays system up time in days (D), hours (H) and minutes (M). 

| { grep grep_options | more }

 

Pipes (sends) the output of the command to the command specified. You must specify a command to which 
the output will be sent.

Display the system up time to check for the possibility of anomalous behavior related to shorter or longer up 
times. 

 

The following command displays basic system basic information and up time. 

show system uptime
