This command allows you to define rule expressions to match the protocol field in IP headers.

Syntax

If previously configured, deletes the specified rule expression from the current ruledef.

Specifies how to match.
operator
must be one of the following:

: Does not equal
<=
: Lesser than or equals—available only in 8.1 and later releases
=
: Equals
>=
: Greater than or equals—available only in 8.1 and later releases
protocol_assignment_no
Specifies the protocol by assignment number.
protocol_assignment_no
must be an integer from 0 through 255.
For example, 1 for ICMP, 6 for TCP, and 17 for UDP.
protocol
Specifies the protocol by name.

must be one of the following:

gre
icmp
icmpv6
tcp
