c.  Re-install the BBU by connecting  the BBU to the controller  connector and re-

attaching the 3 screws to the rear of the card which were  removed  in step a 
above 

 

10.   Before  re-installing  the new MegaRAID  controller,  make sure that the BBU is installed 

onto the card properly  as shown  in Figure  15.  

11.   Reinstall the 9261-8i MegaRAID controller into slot 3 for CDE220/420  and slot1 for the 

CDE250/460/470  – ensuring  it is fully seated into the PCIe  slot. 

12.   Re-attach  slot screw  to firmly  attach 9261-8i MegaRAID controller  and  check that all slots 

screws are tightened. 

13.   Reattached  the mini SAS cable to the 9261-8i MegaRAID controller. 

14.   Replace  the top cover and rack the chassis. 

15.   Replace the power supplies and reconnect all cables, make sure you verify  labels after  all 

cables and fiber/copper  are  connected  to interfaces. 

16.   Boot the server.
