Enable the ASI Feature
Enabling the ASI Feature
After installing the ASI package onto the DNCS, follow these instructions to enable
the ASI card.
1.
Follow these instructions to log on to the xterm window as root user.
a) Type su - and then press Enter.

b) Type the root password and then press Enter.
2.
Remove the existing input cable from the back of the data QAM.
3.
Replace the input cable with the cable from the ASI card that you just
installed into the DNCS.
Note: Plug the cable into the connector labeled ASI IN.

In an xterm window on the DNCS, type cd /dvs/dncs/bin and then press
Enter.
Result: The /dvs/dncs/bin directory becomes the working directory.

5.
Type .AddDncsFEATURESupport.sh and then press Enter.
Note: Be sure to type the dot preceding the file name.

6.
Set menu item 6, Direct ASI, to Enable.
