  TVs typically will retain settings made via their Settings menu. However, if an 

equivalent RS-232 control command is supported, StadiumVision Director may 
be used to set this on the TV upon script initiation or for doing a bulk setting 
across a number of DMP-connected TVs. See the section on Configuring 
Display Specifications.

  Some older TVs do not have the ability to adjust for over scan. If the picture 

requires adjustment, the DMP provides a way to scale and position the picture. 
See the section on Configuring Display Specifications. 

DNS name resolution is not required for DMPs to operate in the StadiumVision 
solution. In fact, if a DMP is configured with a DNS server, and that server becomes 
unreachable, then system operation will slow.  This is because DMPs perform 
reverse DNS lookups when a DNS server is configured. Therefore, it is 
recommended that you not configure the DMPs with a DNS server. Since DHCP is 
typically used this means that the DHCP scope for the DMPs should not include a 
DNS server. 

Situation: Due to a hardware failure, a DMP needs to be replaced while the event 
script is running. 

Challenge:  Once you have replaced the failed DMP, you want the new DMP to 
follow the same scripted behavior as its predecessor.
