Customize the 

 Scan button on your Brother machine’s control panel to scan using your preferred 

scanning software.

Confirm that the machine is connected to your computer via a USB cable.

Access the machine from your computer using one of the following:

(Start) > Settings > Devices > Printers&Scanners > Devices&Printers.

Move your mouse to the lower right corner of your desktop. When the menu bar appears, 
click

 > Control Panel. In the Hardware and Sound group, click View devices and 

printers.

Click  

(Start) > Devices and Printers.

- For Windows Vista

Click  

(Start) > Control Panel > Scanners and Cameras > Printers.

- For Windows

 XP

Click  

(Start) > Control Panel > Scanners and Cameras.

Right-click the scanner icon, and select Scan properties from the menu.
