Tones and Their Meanings
You may hear any of the following tones as you use
your telephone:

Network tones
Busy signal: A low-pitched tone repeated 60 times a
minute; indicates the number dialed is in use.

Confirmation tone: Three tones; indicates a feature

Dial tone: A continuous tone; indicates dialing can

requested, or a failure to dial within a preset interval
