Remove one screw (callout 1) and disconnect two connectors (callout 2).

  Removing the open sensor assembly

To remove the open sensor assembly, slide the assembly toward the front of the device and lift
the assembly up.

Perform a scanner calibration after replacing this part.

If streaks occur in the scanned image after replacing this part, remove the scanner glass and
cover. Clean the back side of the glass and the white calibration strip by using a lint-free cloth.

If, after calibrating and cleaning, scan-quality issues still exist, replace the flatbed unit
assembly.
