Customizing the aera

Off road—to calculate point-to-point 

routes (without roads). 

avoidances—select the road types that you 

want to avoid or that you would prefer to 

take on your routes. 
restore—restore the original navigation 

settings.

Color Mode—select 

 for a 

light background, 

for a dark 

background, or 

to automatically switch 

between the two. 
Screenshot—enable screenshot mode. Touch 

 to take a screenshot. The picture bitmap 

file is saved in the 

 

folder on the aera drive.

Brightness—adjust the backlight brightness 

level. Reducing the backlight brightness 

increases your battery life. 
Touchscreen—follow on-screen instructions 

to calibrate the touchscreen.
restore—restore the original display 

settings.

Time Format—select 12-hour, 24-hour, or 

UTC time format.
Current Time—select 

 to update 

the time automatically. When

not selected, you can adjust the time in  

15-minute increments.

Voice—change the language for voice 

prompts. 
Text—change all on-screen text to the 

selected language. Changing the text 

language does not change the language of 

user-entered data or map data, such as street 

names. 
Keyboard—select the keyboard for your 

language. You can also change the keyboard 

language from any keyboard by touching the 

button.
