SEALING KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING - FIRE HAZARD
WHEN UNIT IS USED IN VACUUM MODE THERE IS A RISK OF
PERSONAL INJURY FROM FIRE DUE TO IGNITION OF VACU-
UMED MATERIALS IF THIS SEALING KIT IS NOT PROPERLY
INSTALLED ON THE INNER VOLUTE HOUSING.
1. Loosen blower tube clamp screw.
2. Remove blower tube from housing.
3. Remove clamp from housing.
4. Remove lower handle, (if applicable).
5. Cut WARNING/STARTING INSTRUCTION decal (be-
low throttle trigger) along parting lines of housing.
6. Lay blower on intake grill side. Remove six hex head
screws and one Phillips head screw (at harness clip)
holding housing together.
7. Hold housing halves together and turn blower over
on to engine side.
8. Lift outer volute housing CAREFULLY so that throttle
trigger assembly is not disturbed.
9. Lay a straight edge across center of crankshaft end
and between edge of two opposing fins on fan.
11. Turn fan retaining nut counterclockwise to remove. DO NOT
use an impact wrench when removing or installing nut. Re-
move lock washer and flat washer.
12. Remove fan from crankshaft. Do not remove flat washer un-
der fan.
13. Clean inner volute housing with rubbing alcohol or a gen-
eral purpose cleaner such as Fantastik, 409, etc. Area around
openings must be cleaned and dried thoroughly so that tape
will adhere.
14. Install the five pieces of aluminum tape over the long open-
ings in the inner volute housing. Tape must be pressed into
recess and sealed completely.
(There are six pieces of tape included in the kit in case one
tape gets damaged.)
10. Mark one fin and outer edge of crankshaft end as
shown above.
NOTE
Fan must be reinstalled in the SAME position to
insure original performance.
15. Place fan, flat washer, lock washer, and new fan retaining
nut on crankshaft.
IMPORTANT
Align marks made on fan and crankshaft end so that fan is
in its original position.
16. Align marks made on fan and crankshaft end so that fan is
in its original position.
17. Torque nut to 150 - 200 in. Ibs. Be sure that fan has not
turned on crankshaft.
18. Reinstall outer volute housing, clamp, and blower tube.
Tighten all fasteners completely.
The unit is now ready for installation of the vacuum kit.
