9 HOW TO UPDATE FIRMWARE

Download the latest version of update software from the Kenwood web site URL shown below:
(URL is subject to change.)

Carefully read the update instructions provided when you download the software.  Begin the 
procedure only after you understand the provided instructions.

Note:


“XXX” is a 3-digit numeric version number.



During the routine update, there are automatic resets executed several times.  Therefore, ensure you back up all configuration 

data and channel data prior to beginning the firmware update



To restore the backup data, ensure using MCP-4A prior to writing data back to the transceiver  all data is correct.



The software update for TNC is not available on the web site: The current firmware version of TNC is 1.00  as of May 15

and has not been upgraded from the original firmware version.
