General Installation Information:
1.
Recommended tools: 3/8" socket and ratchet.
2.
Use rated supply wire and utilize the units’ cable clamp to keep the wires away from the ballast and lamp socket.
3.
Ensure existing housing does not leak from above and is secured properly to the canopy and can safely support the
additional weight of the retro-fit assembly. If not, seal and reinforce attachment system.

UCT-5 Trim for use with Hubbell UCL or UCB ballast housings, UCO optical assemblies and Whiteway Civic
Series fixtures rated for 400 watts maximum with a minimum internal size of 19" by 9.06" by 13.75" high.
1.
Open, remove and discard lens frame assembly from existing fixture.
2.
Remove lamp, reflector, socket/bracket, ballast (optional) and any hardware
from housing’s door flange.
3.
If you are using the
existing ballast, extend the leads for the socket and an
additional ground wire approximately 5 inches below the canopy. If you are
upgrading the ballast system, disconnect the supply wires from the existing
ballast and extend those leads along with an additional ground wire approxi-
mately 5 inches below the canopy.
4.
Place wires through UCT panel’s wiring hole, hold panel against housing’s
door flange and lock the two suport arms (fig.1). Note:
Do not pinch wires.
5.
Remove and discard Ballast Housing lid. Extend matching voltage and ground
leads with enclosed wires and secure with housing’s wire clamp. Note:
En-
sure ballast voltage leads match the line voltage. Cap un-used leads.
6.
Place wires over end wall. With wires facing wiring hole, insert housing side-
ways through the panel’s opening (fig.2), turn the housing with the bolts
down and rest the housing’s channels on the support rails (fig.3).
7.
Fish wires through the wiring hole, complete the connections and push all
wires back through the wiring hole. Note: Wires should
not extend below
canopy.
8.
Position and orient Lens Assembly with a
non-hinge/latch side facing the
direction where there
may be a glare problem (reflectors can be adjusted
downwards). Place the lead-in cone (fig.4) into the ballast housings socket
cone and rotate assembly until the two bolt heads slide through the key
holes. Rotate unit clockwise until it locks into place; ensure the unit is se-
cured.
9.
Push latch up and lower lens. Adjust alignment if necessary and tighten
bolts with a 3/8" socket.
Ensure bolts are tight. Install lamp tightly and close
lens door.
