The user menu is requested by pressing the 

 button for more than 8 seconds.

four seconds, otherwise the user menu is quit automatically.
In order to quit the user menu, set 

(1' using the right rotary control. The user

menu is quit after 4 seconds.

Both tone settings and the last selected station when the unit was switched off,
are stored in each user memory.
