End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the
Cisco 1- and 2-Port Multichannel T3 Port Adapters
Cisco 1- and 2-Port Multichannel T3 Port Adapters
EOL5464
Cisco Systems
®
announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco 1- and 2-
Port Multichannel T3 Port Adapters. The last day to order the Cisco 1- and 2-Port
Multichannel T3 Port Adapters is December 29, 2007. Customers with active service
contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center
(TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life
milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 1- and 2-Port Multichannel T3 Port
Adapters. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
The recommended replacements for the affected products are the 1- and 2-Port Multichannel T3
Port Adapters for the Cisco 7200 Series Routers and Cisco 7301 Router with enhanced capability.
The enhanced port adapters address specific scalability challenges by increasing performance
and lowering CPU utilization. They offload advanced capabilities and features from the CPU,
delivering them directly to meet enterprise and service provider WAN link-aggregation service
requirements. This announcement is applicable to all Cisco routers that support these products.
The platforms that support these port adapters are the Cisco 7200 Series, 7301, 7304, 7500
Series, and 7600 Series Routers and the Catalyst 6500 Series Switch. The 7200, and 7301
support the new port adapters with part numbers PA-MC-T3-EC and PA-MC-2T3-EC. Customers
with Cisco 7600 Series and Catalyst 6500 Series should migrate to the port adapter with part
number SPA-2XCT3/DS0.
