Compliance with the Electronic Communications Act in respect of these Products & Accessories (where applicable) 

has been received from ICASA (Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) via the issuing of Radio 

Equipment Type Approval Certificate(s). 

 

Copies of the relevant ICASA certificates are available for viewing / downloading at:

Compliance also requires that 

specific regulations relating to the labelling of type-approved equipment is adhered 

to and specifies that: 

 

•  A legible label must be permanently affixed to the outside of the equipment, showing the ICASA logo and 

the ICASA-issued type approval number 

•  The container in which the equipment is supplied must also have the same label 
•  This must be done before the equipment is made available for sale or lease or is supplied in any other 

manner 

 

Garmin Distribution Africa (Pty) Ltd (“GDA”), have issued specific instructions to our Warehouse facility to ensure 

that all products requiring ICASA labelling meet with these requirements, prior to despatch.  In the unlikely event 

that a Business Partner should receive stock of the above mentioned products that is not labelled in accordance 

with these regulations, they are kindly requested to refrain from displaying or offering for sale any such product and 

must immediately advise the Garmin Sales Team on telephone number 0861-GARMIN to ensure immediate 

corrective action is implemented.
