Register multiple transmitters to one receiver:  From 1 to 100
transmitters may be registered with a single receiver.  Simply
repeat the above steps for each transmitter that you wish to
register with the same receiver.  Important:  Remember to register
each transmitter with only one receiver.  Otherwise, when the send
button is pressed on the transmitter, data will be sent an incorrect
receiver as well as the correct receiver.

Delete the registration of an individual transmitter to a
particular receiver:
Open the small plastic door on the back of
the transmitter (not the battery door), there you will see a small

Configure the measurement device:  The measurement device
may require configuration to allow output of data through the data
port on the device.  Please refer to the operations manual for the
measurement device to obtain correct settings.

Connect the wireless receiver to the computer:  Before
wireless data transmission can occur, the wireless receiver must
be working properly with the computer that is running Net-Inspect.
See wireless receiver user instructions for setup procedure.

Test the data transmission from the measurement device into
Net-Inspect:
Check to be sure that data is traveling from the
measurement device through to the computer running Net-Inspect
software.  First, take a measurement with the measurement
device.  When the measurement device displays the

Wireless Data Transmitter

User Instructions

Introduction

The Net-Inspect wireless data transmitter is designed to transmit
data from various digital inspection instruments to the Net-Inspect
Quality System.  The transmitter may be used with many different
digital inspection devices that have data output capability.  Check
with Net-Inspect for compatibility and pricing.

Setup

Install the battery:  There is a small plastic cover on the back of
the transmitter that must be slide back to expose the battery
compartment.  Install a size CR2032 Lithium Coin Cell battery,
being careful to observe that correct polarity is maintained.  The
positive (+) side of the battery goes UP.  Slide the plastic cover
back into place.  To assure the best performance, replace the
battery every three months.

Connect the measurement device:  The wireless data
transmitter must be connected to a digital inspection device to
operate.  There is a short cable on the device with a custom
connector on the end.  Plug this connector into the inspection
device.

Register the w ireless transmitter with the wireless receiver:
In order to operate, each transmitter must be registered with the
intended receiver.  The transmitter must be registered with only
one receiver.  To register the transmitter with the receiver, hold the
transmitter within two feet of the receiver.  Push the "ADD" New
Transmitter button on the receiver.  The blue status LED (light
emitting diode) will light on the face of the receiver.  Within 10
seconds, push the send button on the transmitter.  The blue status
LED on the receiver will flash 3 times to indicate that the
transmitter has been correctly registered with that receiver.  With
each of the 3 flashes, you will also hear a beep from the receiver.
measurement, press the send button on the Net-Inspect
transmitter.  The Status LED on the receiver will flash for 1 second
and a short beep will sound to show that the data has been
received by the receiver and sent through the serial cable to the
computer running Net-Inspect.  The data should appear in the Net-
Inspect data entry box on the computer monitor.

If the data does not appear on the Net-Inspect gauge input screen,
then check the serial connection and configuration.  The setting
should be 9600, 8, N, 1 with NO Flow Control.  Also assure that
the serial cable used is a straight through cable without any
gender changers or null-modems in the line.

If the battery power in the transmitter is too low for proper
operation:
When the battery power is too low, the transmitter will
not transmit.  If you press the send button and know that the
transmitter is registered with the receiver, then replace the battery
and retest.  If it still does not work properly, then re-register the
transmitter with the receiver.  There is no harm in re-registering
several times if you feel it was not done already.  Test again.  If the
data does still not appear in the Net-Inspect software, call Net-
Inspect for technical support.

push button switch, press and hold the button with the tip of a pen,
then press the send button on the transmitter.  You must be within
2 feet of the receiver.  You will hear a long beep (3 seconds) from
the receiver indicating that the transmitter has been removed from
the receiver's registration list.  In addition to the 3 second beep,
the Status led will light for the 3 second period.  That receiver will
not process future transmissions from that transmitter.

Delete the registration of all transmitters on a particular
receiver:
Press and hold the "Delete All Transmitters" button on
the receiver for 5 seconds.  After you have held the button down
for 5 seconds, you will hear a 5 second beep and the Status LED
will flash for 5 seconds.
