This section allows the user to set the transceivers to comply with different government standards.  Set
the mode to comply with the correct regulations for the area in which the transceiver will be operated.
Setting Definition
FCC rules – Radio power output can be the full 500 mW.
Do not use this option in the GXM.
EU 440 rules – Radio power output is limited to a maximum of 100 mW.

The Max and Min Packet Size settings and the RF Data Rate determine the number of bytes in the
packets. Throughput can be enhanced when packet sizes are optimized. In Point-to-Point mode, the Max
and Min Packet Settings will not much material impact on throughput unless a port-to-port throughput of
115.2 KBaud is required. However, this may have an impact on latency. For example, if small amounts of
data are sent and large packet sizes are selected, a certain amount of time “wasted” between each
packet would be seen.
The following 3 tables provide the information to determine optimum setting values.
The default settings are: Max Packet Size = 8, Min Packet Size = 9, and RF Data Rate = 3.
The following table defines the Minimum packet size in bytes by way of charting the Min Packet Size
setting versus the RF Data Rate setting. Using the default settings, the actual minimum packet size, in
bytes, is 44.
