Wi-Fi® Water Leak and  
Freeze Detector
Quick Start Guide
Download the Lyric app
To setup and use your new leak 
detector, search for Honeywell 
Lyric in the App Store or Google 
Play.
After downloading, launch the app 
and follow the instructions in the 
app to connect and set up the Wi-
Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector.
Install batteries
The detector is powered by 3 AA 
batteries (included). Open the 
battery cover on the detector and 
install the batteries.
Note: There is no power plug-in on 
the detector. The cable sensor jack 
is for the optional cable sensor only.
Connect
Pair and name your detector
1  In the app, press Add Device.
2  Select the Lyric Water and Freeze 
Detector.
3  Provide a location for your 
detector.
4  The detector will pair with the 
app. If you have more than one 
detector, you will need to connect 
each detector individually.
5  An audible alert will sound and 
your detector’s LED will turn solid 
blue to indicate your detector is 
paired.
6  Press NEXT to continue.
7  Create a name for the detector or 
select one from the menu. Press 
NEXT.
GET IT ON
Lyric
Placement
Place the bottom of your detector 
flat on the floor or a surface. Ensure 
that the detector is not obstructed. 
For wall mounting, use the included 
screw and hang the detector on the 
mounting keyhole.
Optional cable sensor
To install the optional cable sensor, simply plug it into the 
detector. The entire length of cable is an extended sensor. 
You can hang the detector from the wall or place both the 
detector and cable sensor on the floor.
Additional cable sensors (sold separately) can be 
connected to extend the cable and increase water  
sensing area.
Note: The cable sensor jack is NOT for 
plugging in a power adaptor. Doing so 
could damage the detector.
Common uses
Choose the location(s) most likely to have a leak, such as the 
washer
water heaterrefrigerator or under the sink.
Operation
Lyric app experience
Below are a few examples of the Lyric app screens you will see as you 
use the Lyric Water Leak and Freeze Detector.
Reset
To reset, push one end of a paperclip into the reset hole for 5 
seconds to reset Wi-Fi and detector settings, and to re-start 
Bluetooth pairing. The LED will blink blue.
Push the paperclip into the reset hole for 15 seconds to return the 
detector to its original factory settings. The LED will blink blue.
Status LED
The detector has an LED that gives device status.
If the LED is…
Then the detector…
Blinking Blue
is powering up and connecting to Bluetooth.
Solid Blue
has paired with Bluetooth.
Blinking Green is connecting to Wi-Fi network.
Solid Green 
has power, Wi-Fi connection, and is operating 
normally. LED turns off after 5 minutes. 
Solid Red
has detected a leak or failed to connect to Wi-Fi.
In case of an alarm
Mute the detector’s alarm by pressing the Mute button in the app or 
removing the batteries from the detector. After the alarm, wipe dry 
the detector and cable sensor and put them back in place. Replace 
batteries if they were removed.

following two conditions: 
(1) this device may not cause interference, and 
(2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of 
the device.

Connect to Wi-Fi
1  Choose your network from the 
list, then press 
NEXT.
2  Enter your Wi-Fi password, if 
necessary.
3  Press NEXT to complete.
Note: If you remove and replace the 
detector’s batteries, it will reconnect 
to your Wi-Fi network automatically 
when you install new batteries.
Configure
Continue to follow instructions in the app to configure 
your detector. Set the high and low levels for humidity 
and temperature warnings, and identify the people 
you want notified in case of an alarm. These settings 
can be updated at any time using the app.
