1.  From the Home screen, press the left soft key 
 [Start]. 
2.  Select Settings and press OK. 
3.  Scroll to Power Management and press OK. 
4. Adjust 
the 
following: 
 
z  Backlight time out on battery: select the amount of time for the phone to be idle before the backlight 
turns off. 
z  Backlight time out on AC: select the amount of time for the phone to be idle before the backlight 
turns off when the phone is plugged into a charger. 
z  Display time out: select the number of minutes for the phone to be idle before the Home screen 
turns off. 
5. Press 
[Done]. 
 
TIP: Main battery indicates the amount of battery life remaining. 
Regional settings 
You can specify the language, locale, date and time style, as well as number and currency formatting options.  
1.  From the Home screen, press the left soft key 
 [Start]. 
2.  Select Settings and press OK. 
3.  Select More..., press OK, then select Regional Settings. 
4. Adjust 
the 
following: 
 
z  Language: select your preferred language. 
z  Locale: select the locale for the language you selected. The locale option automatically changes 
the format of the remaining options (such as date, time, and currency) according to the locale you 
specify. 
5. Press 
[Done]. 
 
NOTE: You must turn your phone off and on again for the changes to take effect. 
TIP: You need to press More… in the Settings popup menu to access Regional Settings 
Select Default Band 
Your phone has three possible bands in which to operate. Choose one band as the default. 
1.  From the Home screen, press the left soft key 
 [Start]. 
2.  Select Settings and press OK. 
3.  Scroll to Connections and press OK. 
4.  Select Wireless Manager 
5.  Press right soft key [Menu], select Phone Settings, then System Select. 
6.  Select Default Band(Automatic A, Automatic B, Home Only), and press [Done]. 
Display your phone number 
For a quick display of your phone number, the “Phone Information” selection from the settings page will 
display the number. 
1.  From the Home screen, press the left soft key 
 [Start]. 
2.  Select Settings and press OK. 
3.  Scroll to Phone Information and press OK  
Display your ESN 
Your phone has a unique identification number known as the Electronic Serial Number, or ESN. To see the 
ESN follow these instructions.
