C. RS-232 Interface
The simplest configuration, using the RS-232 interface, allows users to connect
directly to the HSD-400 terminal without any kind of networking device (i.e. router or
file server). The port identified as DTE-MPDS, on the Interconnect Drawings (refer to
the Installation section of this manual), is a serial data port capable of operating up
to 115 kbps line speed with a maximum throughput of 64 kbps. This RS-232 port only
supports Mobile Packet Data Service (MPDS).
D. Ethernet Data Interfaces
HSD-400 terminals PN 1252-A-3100 and 1252-A-3200 provide two Ethernet
interfaces. Use the Ethernet interfaces for Swift64 Mobile ISDN,MPDS, or
SwiftBroadband services.
For more information about Ethernet data interfaces, refer to the eNfusion® HSD
High-speed Data Terminal Developer’s Guide (MN-1252-13005).
E. ISDN S/T Interfaces
HSD-400 terminal models 1252-A-3100 and 1252-A-3200 provide two ISDN S/T
physical interfaces that each support up to seven external connections to Terminal
Adapter (TA) or Terminal Equipment (TE) devices.
