 NAS Enclosure provides a flexible, simple and yet affordable 

approach to network attached storage. It’s flexible because you can use it as NAS or as external storage 

(for a single computer). It’s simple because the auto-configuration function executes as soon as you connect 

the device to the network, eliminating complex settings or program installation. And it is affordable, yet still 

includes valuable features such as FTP and DHCP support.

 

The NAS Enclosure provides a quick and cost-effective solution to sharing storage on the network. Simply install a hard disk 

drive into the enclosure, and now you and your end-users can share the files as if they were stored on their own computers. 

This is ideal for sharing music, photos, legal documents and any other information that would be redundant to keep on 

each PC.

The NAS Enclosure also allows you to use it as a personal external storage device. The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port allows 

you to attach the NAS Enclosure directly to a computer and configure it as an external storage device. In this case, it  

would not be shared storage for the other network users, but an external storage device for the computer that it is 

attached to, providing data restoral, backup or additional storage space as needed.

The NAS Enclosure is capable of functioning as an FTP server, simplifying the sharing of files among your users 

and your customers and prospects. Instead of having to send large files through the email system (which can be a 

problem due to size limitations), you can provide your recipients with a link to the NAS Enclosure, allowing them 

to download the files themselves, avoiding email performance issues and simplifying the sharing of large files 

with your customers and prospects.

The NAS Enclosure features a DHCP server that provides the users on your network a different private internal 

IP address automatically, and tracks them, as well. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is used to provide a 

device with a different IP address every time it attaches to the network. This is required to keep your 

network secure, and having this dynamic function performed (and tracked) automatically eliminates the 

need to have a network administrator burdened with this mundane, labor-intensive responsibility.
