For WOFI luminaires where the LEDs are an integral part of the WOFI luminaire, the following 

shall apply with respect to the guaranteed proper lighting function of the LEDs:

According to the current state of science and technology, the luminous power of the LEDs can 

become weaker in the course of the service life, but they do not suddenly fail. The ageing of LEDs 

is primarily attributable to the increase of defects in the crystal through thermal infl uences. These 

areas no longer take part in the production of light. Non-radiative transitions are formed. WOFI 

guarantees the proper lighting function of the LEDs installed by WOFI according to the service 

life of such LEDs which have at least a so-called L70/B10 value. This value is a standard value in 

LED technology. As such, L70 means that the service life of a LED is measured or determined on 

the basis of the point in time when its luminous effi ciency has dropped on average to 70% of the 

initial value. The B10 value refers to the period after which 10% of the LEDs no longer function. 

WOFI therefore guarantees according to the current state of science and technology that the LEDs 

permanently installed in WOFI LED luminaires retain at least 70% of their lighting effect and a 

maximum of 10% of the installed LEDs fail during the respective service life of the LED type ins-

talled in each case and as indicated on the product packaging or the product.

This means that the decline in the lighting effect of WOFI LED luminaires in the scope mentioned 

above (L70/B10) during the service life does not constitute a defect according to the current state 

of science and technology. A service life fi gure of L70/B10 represents a good illuminance value 

even after the end of the service life.

All replaceable bulbs/lamps are expressly excluded from this performance guarantee. 

This warranty is also subject to the condition that

- 

the WOFI products were used as intended, 

- 

no unauthorised additions and alterations or other modifi cations were made to the 

WOFI products  

- 

maintenance and care of the WOFI products complied with the WOFI instructions for 

use and 

- 

fi tting and installation were carried out according to WOFI’s  installation regulations, so 

that the limit values for supply voltage and environmental impact were complied with, 

- 

WOFI bulbs/lamps or bulbs/lamps specifi ed by WOFI that satisfy the corresponding 

standards and regulations, were used in the WOFI lamps.  

- 

there is no chemical and physical impact on the material surface of the WOFI products 

caused due to improper use, e.g. due to damage caused by the wrong detergent or 

cleaning agent or sharp-edged objects. All or any of the above are specifi cally excluded 

from the guarantee.

these WOFI products haven’t been purchased second-rate quality products or samples,

-  

these WOFI products haven’t been purchased in any factory outlet (proof of receipt).

The guarantee exclusively entails WOFI LEUCHTEN at its own choice carrying out free-of-

charge product repair or free-of-charge replacement delivery for the fi rst end consumer of a 

corresponding or similar WOFI product of the same value in the event of a defect in functional 

effi ciency arising within the guarantee period. In this connection WOFI reserves the right to adapt 

the guarantee to technical progress. 

Costs incurred by the benefi ciary under the guarantee such as expenses, postage and suchlike 

will not be reimbursed. 

Assembly, disassembly and transport costs will also not be reimbursed. 

Business interruption damages, loss of profi t and consequential losses based on a defect in the 

WOFI product, are not covered by the promise of guarantee. 

However, claims to compensation for consequential losses or arising from product liability only 

exist in accordance with compulsory statutory regulations. 

The claim under guarantee only exists under presentation of the product and proof that the 

fault in functional effi ciency occurred during the guarantee period. In particular this proof can 

be provided by presenting the sales receipt. We therefore recommend to at least keep the sales 

receipt safe until expiry of the guarantee period.
